John is an industry leader known for providing exceptional experiences and a strong sense of home to seniors in residential communities.
One of CPF’s co-founding partners, he expertly navigates the space where hospitality and healthcare meet while continuing to expand senior living opportunities for this rapidly growing segment of the U.S. population.
John has been a hospitality professional for more than four decades. Before helping to establish CPF, he was Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of Brookdale Senior Living, Inc., the largest senior living company in the U.S. During his tenure, the company grew from 22 communities to approximately 650 communities serving residents in independent living, assisted living, memory care and large campus continuous care retirement communities.
“Investing in both the clinical and housing sides of senior healthcare involves asking: what do we need to change and what opportunities will lead to growth?”
Prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Lane Hospitality (now Spire Hospitality), which owns and operates more than 40 hotels and resorts, and its affiliate, High Country Corporation. While there he also served for three years as Chairman of ITT Sheraton’s Owners Council. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University and is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA).
